The creator of the Street Fighter series recently left Capcom. However, that doesn't mean the fighting game series that started it all is over and done with. A new Street Fighter title is in the works over at Capcom. Contrary to popular belief, development has just begun on the title, with an estimated Summer 2006 release date. So all of those rumors you heard about Street Fighter IV coming two years ago, were completely false. Very little info is known about the new title, other than "the fact that it will remain 2D."
